MIDDLE HOUR CLASS 2017
Starting September 24 our Middle Hour adult class will begin meeting again. We will be looking at a very timely topic for this 500th anniversary year of the Reformation (1517-2017), using the new book from Augsburg Fortress, Together By Grace: Introducing the Lutherans. This book consists of numerous chapters (43 in all) from 3 to 8 pages, by various authors, covering a wide variety of topics. Some of these authors are familiar to those who have participated in the synod’s Lay School of Ministry here at Our Saviour’s. These chapters cover such topics as “Read the Bible with Martin Luther,” “Discipleship and Spirituality According to Luther’s Catechisms,” “Katharina von Bora, Mother of the Lutheran Reformation,” “Luther on Worship and Welfare,” “A Lutheran Educator Reflects on Religion and Science,” “Why Lutherans Care for Creation,” “I Am a Palestinian Christian,” “Out of the Depths I Cry to You,” and thirty five others. We will select several of these to discuss during the middle hour. We will meet at least six times from September 24 through October 29. After that, we can decide as a group whether to continue with other topics in the book or stop there and go on to something else. Please contact Curt Rohland (715-894-0733) with questions or suggestions.
