Chartered in 1898, Our Saviour’s was organized by Norwegian immigrants. It is now a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which has 4.7 million members nationwide. We are also one of 200 congregations of the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin.
We spell our n ame S.a.v.i.o.u.r.s. That “u” is an old British way of spelling. Why do we spell it that way? Maybe it’s because we are over 110 years old. Who knows! What we do know, however, is that even though it may be old fashioned spelling, it doesn’t reflect old fashioned thinking.
Our Saviour’s is located at 1300 Mansfield Street, Chippewa Falls, WI [map]. We are on the west side of Chippewa Falls, conveniently located near both the high school and the middle school. We have been here since 1960, when we relocated from the original church building on the east bank of Duncan Creek in downtown “Chipp’wa.”
All are welcome! We invite you to stop by for a visit sometime or join us for worship. We worship with a little over 200 folks on Sunday mornings at 8:00 and 10:15. We also have a Wednesday evening worship experience at 5:30 as part of our Midweek programming.
