Ashes for Ash Wednesday Making the most of our spacious parking lot, we plan to offer Drive-Up Ashes for Ash Wednesday. The ashes remind us of our mortality. We are dust and to dust we shall return. But we have hope in the one who journeys the way of the cross to save us from the power of sin and death, and so we mark our foreheads with ashes in the shape of a cross. To do this as safely as possible, we will offer Drive-Up Ashes in the church parking lot on Wednesday, February 17 from Noon to 1 p.m. and again from 5:15-6:45 p.m. For those who choose to come in the evening, please be mindful of pedestrians, as children may be coming and going through the main entrance for midweek classes. Drive-Up Ashes will be set up near the office end of the building. Here’s how it will work: Drive up to Pastor Karen who will be standing outside, forming a line if necessary. While you wait or after you have received your ashes, park your car and tune your radio to 91.5 for a brief devotion. Please wear your facemask. The ashes will be shared using a fresh Q-tip for each person.
