PRELUDE – OSLC Praise Team

“My Soul Is Thirsting” – By: Steve Agrisano

 WELCOME

CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS

L: Blessed be the holy Trinity,☩ one God, the God of manna, the God of miracles, the God of mercy.

C: Amen.

L: Drawn to Christ and seeking God’s abundance, let us confess our sin.

God, our provider,

C: help us. It is hard to believe there is enough to share. We question your ways when they differ from the ways of the world in which we live. We turn to our own understanding rather than trusting in you. We take offense at your teachings and your ways. Turn us again to you. Where else can we turn? Share with us the words of eternal life and feed us for life in the world. Amen.

L: Beloved people of God: in Jesus, the manna from heaven, you are fed and nourished. By Jesus, the worker of miracles, there is always more than enough. Through Jesus, ☩ the bread of life, you are shown God’s mercy: you are forgiven and loved into abundant life.

C:    Amen.

GATHERING HYMN

He Is Exalted – By: Twila Paris.

He is exalted, the King is exalted on high; I will praise Him.

He is exalted, forever exalted and I will praise his name!

He is the Lord; forever his truth shall reign.

Heaven and earth rejoice in his holy name

He is exalted; the King is exalted on high!     Repeat

He is the Lord: forever his truth shall reign.

Heaven and earth rejoice in his holy name

He is exalted; the King is exalted on high!

He is exalted; the King is exalted on high!

GREETING

L:       The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

C:       And also with you.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

L:  Ever-loving God, your Son gives himself as living bread for the life of the world. Fill us with such a knowledge of his presence that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life to serve you continually, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

C:    Amen.

READING – Ephesians 5:15-20

15Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, 16making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17So do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit, 19as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts, 20giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

SERMON – PR. Karen Behling

SONG OF THE DAY

“How Great Thou Art”

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the works thy hand hath made,

I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder, thy pow’r throughout the universe displayed;

Refrain

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee, how great thou art! How great thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee, how great thou art! How great thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander, I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;

when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze;  Refrain

But when I think that God, his Son not sparing, sent him to die, I scarce can take it in,

that on the cross my burden gladly bearing he bled and died to take away my sin;  Refrain

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!

Then I shall bow in humble adoration and there proclaim, “My God, how great thou art!”  Refrain
