PRELUDE – OSLC Praise Team

“Purify My Heart” – By: Jeff Nelson

Psalm 8

1O Lord our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!—

2you whose glory is chanted above the heavens out of the mouths of infants and children;

you have set up a fortress against your enemies, to silence the foe and avenger.

3When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars you have set in their courses,

4what are mere mortals that you should be mindful of them,

human beings that you should care for them?

5Yet you have made them little less than divine;

with glory and honor you crown them.

6You have made them rule over the works of your hands;

you have put all things under their feet:

7all flocks and cattle,

even the wild beasts of the field,

8the birds of the air, the fish of the sea,

and whatever passes along the paths of the sea.

9O Lord our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Come, Now Is The Time To Worship – By: Brian Doerksen

 Come, now is the time to worship.

Come, now is the time to give your heart.

Come, just as you are to worship.

Come, just as you are before your God, come.

One day ev’ry tongue will confess you are God. One day ev’ry knee will bow.

Still the greatest treasure remains for those who gladly choose You now.     Repeat All

 Repeat the first verse

L: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

C:    And also with you.

L: O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son. Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred that infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and, through our struggle and confusion, work to accomplish your purposes on earth; so that, in your good time, every people and nation may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

READING    Philippians 2:1-8

1If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, 2make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. 4Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. 5Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,

6who, though he was in the form of God,

did not regard equality with God

as something to be exploited,

7but emptied himself,

taking the form of a slave,

being born in human likeness.

And being found in human form,

8he humbled himself

and became obedient to the point of death —

even death on a cross.

Word of God, word of life. Thanks be to God.

SERMON – Pr. Karen Behling

Beautiful Savior

Beautiful Savior, King of creation, Son of God and Son of Man!

Truly I’d love thee, truly I’d serve thee, light of my soul, my joy, my crown.

Fair are the meadows, fair are the woodlands, robed in flow’rs of blooming spring;

Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, he makes our sorrowing spirit sing.

Fair is the sunshine, fair is the moonlight, bright the sparkling stars on high;

Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer than all the angels in the sky.

Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man!

Glory and honor, praise, adoration, now and forevermore be thine!

“How Majestic Is Your Name” – By: Michael W. Smith

Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.
Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.

P:       Go in peace. Care for God’s creation.

C:       Thanks be to God.
